Alang, Madan and Kulang, Forts (also Alangad, Madangad, Kulangad) Forts:- Maharashtra, India.

Alang, Madan and Kulang, (also Alangad, Madangad, Kulangad), the forts situated in Kalasubai range, are the most difficult forts in Nasik District. Dense forest and less population have made these treks difficult. The trek to Alang-Madan-Kulang is considered to be one of the toughest treks in Maharashtra. It tests your stamina, patience and mental toughness. Due to their remote and difficult location the Forts have remained neglected by Gov. of India.

The top of the fort is a huge plateau. On the fort, there are two caves, a small temple and 11 water cisterns. Also, there is very less historical information available about these forts. They were probably ceded to the Peshwa by the Moghals in 1760 and From the Peshwa they passed to the British in 1818. It is said in history of the British records that the Marathas and Mughals occupied these fort and kept as watch towers in the medieval period. Since it height was 4852ft, it was the best place to look out any invaders coming in side this province.
